Reseller Program - Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to sign a contract or make a commitment?
No. Socket's Reseller Program requires no written agreements or long-term commitments.

Does it cost anything to participate?
No. It is absolutely free to participate in Socket's Reseller Program.

Do I have to be a Socket customer?
No. While we would love to provide friendly, reliable Internet service to your home and/or business, it is not a requirement to participate in the Reseller Program.

Are there minimum sales requirements?
No.

How do resellers sign up customers?
Online registration forms are available for both High-Speed DSL and dial-up services. Sign-up CDs can also be distributed or displayed in your store. The CDs contain a special code that, when used, traces back to where the customer picked up the CD. Special vouchers or coupons can also be created.

How much do I receive for each customer?
Resellers are paid $20 for all new customers they sign up and $10 for all current dial-up customers who upgrade to High-Speed DSL.

What specials can I offer customers?
All dial-up customers signing up through a reseller will receive a FREE month of service. High-Speed DSL specials vary by area.

How does Socket refer customers to my business?
When Socket customers need hardware or support beyond what our technical support representatives can provide, we refer them to a local reseller. The reseller can then serve those customers as they would any other.

When will I receive commission?
Commission checks are distributed monthly based on customers signed up the previous month. Resellers with services from Socket will have their commission applied directly to their bill.

Am I required to accept payments from Socket customers?
No. Resellers do not handle payments of any kind.

Will Socket assist me with marketing efforts?
Socket provides in-store signage and displays, promotional items and other methods to help you promote our services. We work with each reseller to come up with marketing plans for their specific area and customer type.

What if I have questions or problems?
Resellers can directly contact the Reseller Coordinator with any questions or problems.
